As part of your Family Finder results, FTDNA provides a downloadable file that contains the names and matching chromsome segments for up to 3 of your matches. By loading multiple files with that information into the GEDmatch.Com database, you can see all your matches on the same screen. The program will also group the most similar matches together
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Log in to your FTDNA account.
2. Click on "My FTDNA Home" near the top right hand corner of the first page.
3. In the left column, under 'Family Finder', click on 'Chromosome Browser'.
4. On the 'Chromosome Browser' page(s), select 3 of your matches.
5. Then, under the chromsome chart, Click on 'View this data in a table'.
6. When the table appears, click on 'Download to Excel'.
7. A box will open on your screen. Make note of the file name. It will probably consist of your kit number, 'chromosome_browser_results', followed by '.csv'
8. Make sure 'Save File' is selected, then click on 'Save'.
9. Make sure you notice where the file is saved.
10. On the form below, fill in the information, and click on 'Browse' to find the file you just saved.
11. Click on the 'Submit' button.
You may repeat these steps for additional matches, and they will be added to the ones already in the database. This will allow you to see more than 3 matches at a time.
After you have uploaded your 'chromosome browser results' file, you will be able to upload more files, or you can get a report of matching segments. It will show an image similar to the FTDNA Chromosome Browser, but with all the matches that you have uploaded on it at once.
